Letter apparently from a woman (based on what appear to be 2 feminine adjectives, כפיפה and ראציא = ראציה) to her father (yā wālidī). Fragment (lower right corner). In Judaeo-Arabic. Refers to family drama and perhaps the sender's desire to move in with another woman in the family (nataʾawwa ʿindahā). On verso there is a draft of the first three lines of a letter in Arabic script. The remainder of verso and the margins of recto are also filled with Arabic-script pen exercises. The testimony of Arus b. Yosef about Lebdi's partnership with his brother Shelomo Lebdi. After Shelomo Lebdi drowned in the spring of 1099 on his way from Tunis to Spain, his son David had to secure his rights as heir. The first step was the testimony of Arus b. Yosef, a travel companion of Lebdi, who testified in the court of Fustat on the nature of partnership between the two Lebdi brothers. The document is dated to June 10, 1099.

Fragment from a ketubba written by Halfon b. Menashshe ha-Levi. The bride’s name is Diyār. There is another minute fragment bound together with the ketubba, which contains another fragment of a legal deed, probably written by Natan b. Shelomo ha-Kohen. AA
