Letter from Yefet b. Menashshe to his brothers Abū Saʿīd Ḥalfon b. Menashshe and Abū l-Surūr Peraḥya b. Menashshe. In Judaeo-Arabic. Fragment (upper left corner of recto). Yefet reports that someone is doing well and that he had a malḥafa with him. It seems that Yefet received it and sold it and bought with the proceeds some small salted fish (ṣīr) and hazelnuts (bunduq). He mentions something which Bū l-Surūr said to him (this is helpful, since it suggests that the Bū l-Surūr who is mentioned throughout Yefet's correspondence is probably not identical with his brother Abū l-Surūr Peraḥya (one of the addressees of the present letter)). Join: Oded Zinger. (Information in part from CUDL)
