Corner of a document containing an official signature followed by the clearly written words ARABIC, and an oval-shaped seal imprint containing featuring names such as `Uthman and Sulayman, possibly Ottoman. FGP

Recto: Letter from Barakāt Ibn al-Dayyān Abū l-Faraj (=Shelomo b. Eliyyahu the Judge). In Arabic script. A narrow vertical strip is missing from the right side. In which Shelomo complains of his poverty and illnesses (alām) and asks for help paying the capitation tax. He may be asking on his father's behalf as well as his own (mentioned three lines from the bottom). (Information in part from Goitein's index card.)

Verso: formulary for reports of death in which the names of the deceased, the heirs and the witnesses are left blank. In Arabic script. Dating: Ca. 13th century. (Information from CUDL.)

Recto: Petition. The endings of 5 lines are preserved, with a raʾy clause at the bottom. The nature of the request is unclear. Refers to 'the aforementioned city.' Between the lines on recto and on verso there are jottings and prayers in Arabic script.

Possibly list of property owners. Most of the words crossed out - needs examination.

Recto: Possibly a letter, in Arabic script. It may consist entirely expressions of love. Ends with a ḥasbala. Might not be an actual letter. Needs further examination. Verso: Prayer in Arabic script, each line of which begins with the words "yā rabb."

Recto: Legal document in Arabic script. Fragment (upper right corner). Name: Nāṣir b. ʿAlī b. Salmān(?). Verso: Probably also a legal document, written after recto was already torn. Mentions the name Manṣūr. Needs further examination.

List of commodities. verso of which is overwritten with an Arabic note and jottings. AA

Account including names and other jottings - needs examination.

Ayyubid state document. Bifolio, possibly from a fiscal accounting ledger. Dated: Shawwāl 622 AH, which is October/November 1225 CE (if read correctly). Mentions al-Malik al-Kāmil (r. 1218–38). The phrase 'al-mablagh al-mustakhraj' repeats at least twice. Mentions the names of qāḍīs. Large and relatively well-preserved. Needs examination.

Recto: Fragment of a letter in Arabic script. Verso: Accounts in Arabic script and Greek/Coptic numerals. Mentions many names. Needs further examination.

Letter in Arabic script. Dating: Probably late Mamluk or Ottoman era. Needs examination for content.

Legal document: deed of acknowledgment (iqrar) for Mahasin b. Said b. Hilal al-Yahudi al-Attar, first five lines only. Probably 11th century.

Possibly a letter or a draft of a letter - needs examination.
