Business letter. In Judaeo-Arabic. The sender addresses a certain Avraham and a certain Abūn (both on recto). Most of the commodities mentioned are materia medica, including balm seed (ḥabb al-balasān), chebulic myrobalan, rhubarb, and kohl. Very faded. There are also remnants of a few words in very large Arabic script, perhaps from a state document. ASE

Italian* (FGP). Appears to be the inscription of an owner's name in a book ('if the book gets lost, and you don't know who owns it, return it to me'). "... magio ... se .... libro se perdese e it nome .... padron non se sapese Salamo Balo..... dioguardi ..."

Bifolio from an astronomical text in Arabic script mentioning Ptolemy, with marginal jottings (observations?) in both Arabic script and Judaeo-Arabic.

Communal letter in Hebrew. Wide space between the lines. Mentions [...] b. ʿAmram.

Small fragment probably from a list. Verso and recto are written in differnet hands. AA

State document, probably a fiscal order. Mentions rāhin/dāʾin in the first line, slaves (ghilmān), and property (ʿamāʾr). Some of the names mentioned are Abū Jawhar, Sayyid al-Ahl bin Muḥammad and ʿAbd al-Bāqī bin...Day recorded in the margin is Thursday; 'bi tārikh Yawm al-Khamīs'. Legal query addressed to Mevorakh b. Saadya, with his responsum. Concerning a trader who shipped 100 silk fūṭas from Alexandria to his partner in Tyre, Lebanon, where they were sold for a sum of 149 dinars, amounting to 1 1/2 dinars per fūṭa. Information from Friedman, India Traders, p. 178 n. 21.
